1:Songs (2010)

A solo concert-performance that brings together voice, memory, and myth.

A single performer Sanja Mitrović moves through fragments of iconic female figures from theatre history — voices like Medea, Antigone, and Gretchen — not to retell their stories, but to let their pain, power, and contradictions vibrate through her body. She sings, speaks, and breaks open — hovering between control and vulnerability.

Set to a pulsating contemporary electronic score by Gary Shepherd, the piece invites us to question the emotional codes we’ve inherited and the ways we carry the past into the present. SONGS is both ritual and reflection: a response to the volatility of our times, voiced through the echoes of those who came before.
